In 2017, Gillian Laub performed Family Matters with Pop-Up Magazine, a live multimedia storytelling showcase, on a six city tour. Laub brought her experience working on Family Matters to life through images, ephemera, and storytelling set to live music. The performance showed her journey- from the genesis of her project while on a cigarette break at school, to the nuances of a politically divided thanksgiving dinner- as she confronted political and social fissures in her family and the world at large.
