Gillian Laub partnered with Vogue for a story about the cast members- both returning and brand new- of MTV’s The Hills: New Beginnings, a reboot of the much beloved original The Hills. Returning cast members reminisce about being influential before the rise of social media, and the way the show shaped their lives. New cast members work through what it means to be on a reality television show, sacrificing the privacy of their personal lives in service of promoting their public personas.
