“As American as,” was a campaign launched by Fusion Media Company, seeking to redefine and celebrate what is quintessentially American - a heartfelt portrayal of America as a melting pot of cultures. The campaign successfully sparked a conversation about diversity and inclusion that reached beyond its original scope.

Images from the campaign were rejected as billboards in some of the most cosmopolitan cities in America, which opened up a greater conversation about censorship. In response, Fusion joined forces with SS+K Media, and created a new billboard in Manhattan—this time with the censored images crossed out. “X marks the spot of censorship,” the billboard says. “See the images America wasn’t ready for.”
